A new year- a fresh start- a perfect time to discover how mindfulness can help you live with more awareness, equanimity and joy. If you have ever wondered what mindfulness is - this is your chance to discover by enrolling in a Mindful Living Retreat.

Make 2011 Your Year of Living Mindfully!

You are invited…

to give yourself the gift of discovering and deepening  mindfulness practice; of quieting your mind and reawakening stillness and connection with yourself. In our hectic, over-scheduled lives, it is hard to find oases of tranquility to restore and rejuvenate. Allow the peaceful nature of this beautiful retreat center, surrounded by meadows, woods and wetlands to support you to step out of the distractions and responsibilities of your everyday life and taste the experience of "just being."

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is purposefully paying attention to what goes on in your mind and body, in a non-judgmental, curious way. Practicing mindfulness, you become aware of tensions, emotions and thoughts, and discover how to respond with more awareness and less reactivity. Mindfulness helps you deeply relax both body and mind, cope better with stress, and improve your health and wellbeing. It is not something to acquire, but a deep internal resource that is always available. Mindful awareness of moment-to-moment experience, with an attitude of openness and acceptance, reawakens your inner wisdom and clarity.

What to Expect at the Retreat

  • Group practice with guided instruction in mindfulness practices of sitting meditation, walking meditation, mindful eating, mindful movement and body awareness.
  • Time for individual practice, self-reflection and exploration in nature.
  • Interactive group discussion and sharing.
  • Silent practice period through Saturday evening and night
  • Focus on creating and maintaining a mindfulness practice, and integrating in everyday life.
  • A peaceful, natural setting that supports you in deepening into mindful awareness practice.

Who Should Attend?

Tools for Mindful Living Retreats are of benefit to people from all walks of life. Everyone is welcome -regardless of previous experience of meditation. If you are new to meditation, you will receive clear, simple directions about posture, breathing and working with your mind and emotional states.
